Our principles

Five principles, one way of working

As Kia Hākinakina has continued to evolve, five key principles have been developed to ensure that all activity is aligned to who we are and the outcomes we are trying to achieve.

These principles are

What guides everything we do

01

Values

Values brought to life in every session, and carried into the wider community.

02

Inclusion

Meeting the needs of all people, so everyone can take part.

03

Play & Physical Activity

Everyone active at their own level, with their own outcomes.

04

Whanaungatanga

Relationship development and connection build.

05

Te Ao Māori

Shared values and actions grounded in Te Ao Māori.

Built in

Every offering is designed along these lines

All offerings to the community are built along these lines, with integration of the same into existing settings and impact areas.

Any new, potential offerings or activity that is designed is developed utilising these same principles.

Integrating models of practice helps to meet the needs of all people, developing healthier, more socially competent communities.

It also enables greater opportunities to share knowledge and experiences for all engaged.

Kia kaha, kia hākinakina
